Zvizdić after Macron's statement: BiH threat to no one

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, November 8 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina has made significant progress in the fight against terrorism and all forms of extremism, as highlighted in relevant information by international institutions and agencies, but also according to the latest State Department report, BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdić reiterated today.

He said this in response to a recent statement by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said, among other things, that BiH was a ticking time bomb and was facing the problem of returnee jihadists.

Zvizdić also notes that the departure of BiH citizens has been stopped and that not a single BiH citizen has participated in any terrorist act committed in Europe or anywhere else in the world.

"This speaks of our serious commitment to the fight against terrorism, which has resulted in a very clear statement in the reports of relevant institutions and agencies saying that BiH is a very credible partner in the fight against terrorism and a partner in the global coalition in the fight against ISIS," said Zvizdić.

He stressed that BiH remains very committed to the fight against the global problem of terrorism and stated that neither more nor fewer citizens have left for foreign battlefields from BiH than any country in the Western Balkans or Europe and that is why BiH is not and will not pose any threat.

He believes that all states should receive information on terrorism issues directly from the authorized institutions and agencies from BiH because only these are true and relevant facts, that is, real data that can be verified.

"Information should not be taken from those who are unintentionally oriented towards BiH and such statements cause immeasurable damage to BiH's international reputation and credibility, which is in the phase of both European and NATO integration," Zvizdić concluded in a statement from the Council of Ministers of BiH.
