SARAJEVO, November 17 (FENA) - Sarajevo Canton is about to purchase new electric trolleybuses for public transport with money loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Loan Agreement is signed between Bosnia and Herzegovina and EBRD, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina borrows the money and passes the procurement money to the Sarajevo Canton as the final debtor. This way, the loan will not be repaid from the state or the FBiH budget.
What the FBiH level needs to do first is that the prepared proposal for a decision accepting the loan be approved by Parliament. The decision will be on the agenda of the House of Representatives in session convened for November 20 and 21, according to an official announcement.
The planned total loan amount is EUR 15 million. The repayment period of this loan is 15 years, with a two-year grace period.
According to the prepared proposal, the money is used for the implementation of the project “Sarajevo Public Transport”. As stated, the money will be used to "procure new electric trolleybuses to improve the development of public transport infrastructure in Sarajevo through access to clean public transport and increase the capacity and efficiency of public transport services".
