MOSTAR, November 20 (FENA) - The Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH and the Industry Chamber of Commerce of Albania if the Durres region signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation in Mostar.
The memorandum, signed by presidents of the FBiH Chamber of Commerce and the Industry Chamber of Commerce of Albania, Marko Šantić and Alban Isteri, aims to open trade and tourism exchange and facilitate cooperation in other industries of the two countries.
“Foreign trade exchange between BiH and Albania has been a symbolic one, at the level of 50 million KM a year, and it is mainly about the export and import of iron, steel and wood,” Šantić said.
He added that great potentials exist in tourism and transport infrastructure.
“Many BiH citizens see Albania as an attractive summer destination. As for the roads, although Albania and BiH are close geographically, they have very bad roads, and this agreement is at the same time a message to the governing structures of both countries to work in this regard as well,” said Šantić.
President of the Durres Chamber of Commerce of Albania said that the Memorandum is the basis for future cooperation, which will be even more intensified as early as next spring at the Mostar 2020 Trade Fair.
“At the next Mostar Trade Fair, Albanian entrepreneurs will come and introduce themselves. Also, our activities are aimed at joining the European Union, which is the goal of both countries,” Isteri added.
