SARAJEVO, November 20 (FENA) - "Inspiration of Bosnia and Herzegovina" fashion show was organized tonight by Association "Give Us a Chance" to show that all mothers, fathers, children and persons with disabilities, regardless of their possibilities can and should participate in all segments of society in order to find inspiration together, reduce prejudice, discrimination and improve BiH society.
US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson also expressed his support for this idea and project, and said that the US Embassy has been supporting the Association for several years because of what they do for families of children with disabilities.
“We are also at this event tonight, where 30 families, fathers, mothers and children are invited to participate in this fashion show to draw attention to this population that deserves equal rights,” said Nelson.
US Ambassador said that the Association "Give Us a Chance" started with a service center established in Sarajevo, and then grew to seven service centers around the country helping families, parents of children with disabilities.
“We at the US Embassy in Sarajevo and USAID would like this population to have as much support as possible and to support their needs as much as possible. That is why we are very pleased to be able to support these ideas and we are glad that people in this number are present at this event, including numerous public figures,” added Nelson.
What makes the fashion show special is that the models are actually families with a disabled member, parents, their siblings, and even children themselves. Ines Kavalec, director of the Association "Give Us a Chance," said this was an opportunity for them to show not only beauty and glamour, but also courage.
Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka congratulated brave people who lead the Association to bring this idea and project to life.
