SARAJEVO, November 21 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman and member Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović hosted a solemn reception at the BiH Presidency on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day tonight. Šefik Džaferović addressed domestic and foreign officials and said that people in Bosnia and Herzegovina need peace, job and economic stability, or a system that guarantees equal rights for everyone and a clear perspective which gives them hope that they can provide a decent life for themselves and their children.

“People are tired of crises and political disputes. That is why it is high time to stop irrational obstruction, blockades and attempts to simply change the existing constitutional and legal framework. We have witnessed too many times, and especially in the last year, that the crisis is doing no good to anyone and that nothing can be achieved with the ultimate and unilateral approach,” Džaferović said.

He said that everyone should turn to constructive dialogue based on truth and justice, mutual respect, respect for the rule of law, European standards and cooperation for the benefit of all our people.

He referred to the fact that much has been done in the 24 years of post-Dayton BiH and that numerous reforms have been implemented, which indicates that progress has been made.

“Sometimes these processes went faster, sometimes slower. We progressed faster while having our friends from the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The weakening of their interest has resulted in strengthening of destructive policies that seek to challenge existing solutions, laws, decisions ... These policies seek to reverse Bosnia and Herzegovina, drawing it into new ethnic and even territorial divisions. Again, I tell them that it is a waste of time, because they cannot succeed in that,” Džaferović emphasized.

In his view, the only thing that can be a consequence of such policies is the departure of young people from this country, the weakening of the economy, the political instability that rejects investors.

BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić extended congratulations on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day, and instead of the traditional speech, the last living ZAVNOBiH Award winner, Josip Pejaković recited verses about BiH from the poem "Land of Stone".
