BRUSSELS, December 3 (FENA) - MEPs in the European Parliament will discuss the process of European integration for the Western Balkans with Members of national parliaments from the region tomorrow afternoon.
The high-level roundtable will be officially opened by the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli, followed by an address by Olivér Várhelyi, the new European Commissioner for the EU neighborhood and enlargement portfolio, in his first official visit to the European Parliament as Commissioner.
These interventions will be wrapped up with an exchange of views on current challenges and the future prospects for EU enlargement policy between MEPs and Members of Parliament, including political and parliamentary group leaders, from countries in the Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
Part of the event open to the public will be introduced by MEP Tonino Picula, Rapporteur for Montenegro and Chair of the AFET working group on the Western Balkans.
This will be followed by the exchange of views between Standing Rapporteurs, shadow rapporteurs and Chairs of EP Delegations.
The opening session, which will go on for an hour, will be moderated by EP Vice-President Fabio Castaldo (NI, IT), European Western Balkans reports.
