SARAJEVO, December 5 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Security Dragan Mektić met with the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović today and informed her about the migrant situation in BiH.

In a press statement, Mektić confirmed that Mijatović was briefed on all aspects of the situation that BiH is facing, and reiterated that barracks in Blažuj will be ready in 15 days to accommodate all migrants from the Una-Sana Canton.

Also, Mektić announced that as of tomorrow, migrants from the inhumane camp Vučjak should be relocated to Bira and Miral reception centers in Bihać and Ušivak in Sarajevo due to the winter conditions, and all of them will then be accommodated in Blažuj in about 15 days.

Preparation works in Blažuj barracks are underway, and a memorandum should be signed today to ensure regular supply of electricity and water.

“After migrants are accommodated in Blažuj, Vučjak will finally be closed, as utility services will remove everything from that camp,” Mektić announced.

He also briefed Commissioner Mijatović on the case of two Nigerian students transferred by police from Croatia to BiH, pointing out that this is another in a series of problems that BiH has with neighboring Croatia.

He noted that the students were checked and they have valid documents, and BiH now has the possibility to return them to Croatia or return to Nigeria after readmission, and the students said they want to be returned to their home country because of the bad experience they had in Croatia.

Mektić told Commissioner about obstructions from Republika Srpska and criticisms made on the issue of migrant crisis, but he warned that they never had any suggestion.

He also referred to the return of BiH nationals from the battlefield in Syria, saying that nine of the 24 people who would arrive in BiH from the Interpol warrant would be immediately arrested, and announced that children and women would be isolated due to their health condition.
