SARAJEVO, December 17 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda signed three agreements worth EUR 68 million today in Sarajevo with Head of Operations for the Western Balkans region at the European Investment Bank (EIB) Matteo Rivellini.
They signed an investment grant agreement to finance the project on Corridor 5C, followed by a financing agreement for the project Water Supply and Sewerage Services in Republika Srpska II, and a financing agreement for the project Flood Risk Management in Republika Srpska.
Bevanda said the EUR 19 million grant is for the construction of the Zenica North - Žepče South motorway section, and that the funds are provided by the European Union.
“Today we have signed a loan agreement on financing the project Water Supply and Sewerage Services in RS II worth 30 million euros, which should be implemented from 2020 to 2024, and the repayment period for the loan is 25 years, with six years of grace period,” said Bevanda.
He specified the agreement for financing the project Flood Risk Management in the RS worth EUR 19 million, stating that the repayment period for this loan is 25 years, including five years of grace period.
Head of Operations for the Western Balkans region at the European Investment Bank (EIB) stated today that EIB’s total investment in the projects in BiH is EUR 2.7 billion.
“I would like to thank Minister Bevanda and everyone who participated in this process and made it possible to sign the contract today,” said Rivellini.
The EU Special Representative for BiH and Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Ambassador Johann Sattler, attended signing ceremony on behalf of the donors.
“The European Union is with citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and we are working to improve the standards and overall life of all citizens,” Sattler said.
