BiH nationals who participated in foreign fronts arrive in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, December 19 (FENA) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that suspects under investigation for criminal offenses of organizing a terrorist group (Article 202d), unlawfully forming and joining foreign paramilitary or para-police formations (Article 162b) and terrorism (Article 201) of the BiH Criminal Code were transported to Bosnia and Herzegovina tonight.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the competent institutions and agencies have implemented activities in accordance with international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly UN Security Council Resolution no. 2396 and other related resolutions, such as the Council of Europe Protocol to the Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism (ETS 196), which Bosnia and Herzegovina has undertaken to respect and implement through membership of the United Nations and the Council of Europe, as well as membership of the Anti-Terrorist Coalition.

In recent days, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has been cooperating with the Border Police of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH, the BiH Ministry of Security, the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency, the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, in coordination and cooperation with the US Government and the US Embassy in Sarajevo, conducted a series of activities that resulted in transfer of multiple BiH nationals who participated in conflicts on foreign fronts in Syria and are being investigated by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH expresses its readiness and commitment in the implementation of counter-terrorism activities, and thanks the cooperation of all law enforcement agencies in BiH, and in particular the US Government and the US Embassy in Sarajevo, for their support and assistance in the implementation of these activities, the BiH Prosecutor's Office stated.
