SARAJEVO, December 20 (FENA) - An exhumation was conducted today at the Bjeljevina site near Rudo, during which incomplete remains of at least one victim of the past war were found.

According to information from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, it is suspected to be a Bosniak victim killed in this area in 1992.

The Institute spokeswoman Emza Fazlić told FENA that the remains of the victim were found in inaccessible and terrain covered with landmines.

An investigator with the Missing Persons Institute of BiH spent a few days in the field with the mine action team of the FBiH Civil Protection Service during the mine clearance process in order to unearth and recover the mortal remains.

After the exhumation, the remains of the victim were transported to the Autopsy and Identification Center in Goražde, where forensic, criminal and technical processing will be performed and bone samples will be taken for DNA analysis.

The exhumation was handled by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH at the request of the Court of BiH.
