Joint session of CoM and entity governments to take place by end of January 2020

SARAJEVO, December 26 (FENA) - The BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija and the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska prime ministers, Fadil Novalić and Radovan Višković discussed a number of important issues today at the first working meeting in Sarajevo, ways of cooperation between the Council of Ministers and entity governments, as well as priorities for future teamwork.

After the meeting, Tegeltija stated that it was agreed that the first joint session of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the FBiH and RS governments should be held by the end of January 2020, and that joint meetings in this format would be held once a year, while the meetings of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers and prime ministers of the entities be held once every three months.

He stated that they discussed a number of issues such as the VAT law, export of wood assortments, the process of European integration, public administration reform, as well as the issue of general safety in BiH.

When it comes to the VAT law, Tegeltija announced that expert teams would only deal with key VAT issues, such as VAT rate, whether or not to introduce a differentiated rate, and VAT payment deadlines.

“These are open questions about VAT and we will get a clear position of experts on this and after that, we will take a concrete position,” Tegeltija pointed out, noting that a law harmonized with the entity governments will be submitted into the parliamentary procedure.

Tegeltija said that members of the ITA Governing Board from the BiH Council of Ministers would support the entity agreement when it comes to clearing funds from the ITA Single Account, noting that the entity prime ministers have reached a high degree of agreement when it comes to the functioning of the BIH Power Transmission Company.

Tegeltija stated that at today's meeting focused exclusively on the issues of how to improve the everyday life of BiH citizens.
