Indictment filed against Jugomir Marčetić for crime in the Prijedor area

SARAJEVO, December 31 (FENA) - Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has filed an indictment against Jugomir Marčetić, born in 1968, charged with crimes against humanity committed in the Prijedor area.

The accused is charged with participating in the attack and acting contrary to the provisions of International Humanitarian Law during the widespread and systematic attack by the police and the Army of RS (VRS) in the, as well as paramilitary formations in the persecution of Bosniak and Croat civilians in the Prijedor area and surrounding area.

Marčetić is accused of participating in an attack on Zecovi in which at least 150 people were killed and the village’s entire population was expelled and detained in the Omarska, Keraterm and Trnopolje detention camps in the Prijedor area.

Marčetić has been charged with personally participating in the forced separation of men from women and children, as well as the persecution of civilians and the murder of around 20 Bosniak civilians from that village.

It also alleged that Marčetić participated in torture and inhumane treatment, as well as the rape and sexual abuse of Bosniak women and girls.
