SARAJEVO, January 7 (FENA) - The Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina released the data today on the total environmental protection costs in 2018, which amounted to 143,141,399 KM, while total environmental investments in that year amounted to 88,020,982 KM.
Environmental protection investments at the end of the production process accounted for 98.3 percent and investments in the prevention of environmental pollution 1.7 percent.
Of the total investments in environmental protection, investments in air protection accounted for 88.3 percent, in wastewater management 6.8 percent, in waste management 3.3 percent, in the protection and rehabilitation of soil and groundwater and surface water 1.3 percent, in noise and vibration reduction 0.1 percent and in biodiversity protection 0.1 percent.
The data on environmental costs are based on the data from the statistical survey “Environmental costs in 2018”, based on the EU regulations, the EU Parliament and Council of June 2011 and May 2014 respectively.
The data on environmental costs are collected for different environmental areas according to the Unified European Statistical Classification of Environmental Activities (CEPA), adopted by the Conference of European Statisticians in June 1994 and revised in 2000.
