SARAJEVO, January 12 (FENA) - Chinese Gansu vocal and dance ensemble on Saturday evening held a concert titled "The Charming Silk Road and a Walk Through Gansu" tonight at the National Theater Sarajevo.
The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ji Ping welcomed the concert guests and said that the Chinese New Year has been celebrated for 4,000 years and is the oldest, longest but also the most joyous Chinese holiday, and expressed satisfaction that the holiday is celebrated in BiH as well.
He said that the bilateral relations between BiH and China in 2019 were very good and that cooperation has been brought to a higher level.
One of the prominent examples of mutual exchange that the Ambassador cited was the fact that an increasing number of Chinese tourists are visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Thus, in 2019, 100,000 Chinese tourists visited BiH, which was double the number of the previous year. Ambassador Ji Ping believes that it is obvious that local hospitality wins the hearts of the Chinese people.
"China attaches great importance to relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year we will mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations. It is a great moment to reflect on what we have achieved and to come up with new plans that will benefit both countries," said the Chinese ambassador.
Messages from the concert were that music is a universal language without borders, so we need to learn from each other and work together for a better future.
The Gansu Ensemble from this Province has 32 members. Their visit was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China to celebrate the Spring Festival in BiH and share Chinese culture with people of all ethnic communities in BiH.
