SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Dragan Čović told reporters that today's session of the Joint Collegium of both Houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly was intended to appoint all committees, permanent and temporary.

He added that the items on the agenda were mainly related to these appointments, adding that the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is in session today and they want to confirm it, and tomorrow is the session of the House of Representatives of the state parliament at which it will also be confirmed.

“Therefore we formally completed the appointment in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly,” Čović said.

Asked if the Joint Collegium of both Houses was considering confirming the appointment of the members of the BiH Council of Ministers, he replied that the Joint Collegium did not have this on the agenda.

“Today we just agreed to have alternate representatives in the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples for those who were appointed to the Council of Ministers of BiH. So today we will appoint someone at the session of the House of Peoples instead of Fahrudin Radončić, tomorrow also at the House of Representatives. As for the ministers, that was not the topic today,” Čović said.

Asked about his personal stance regarding the appointment of Mladjen Božović as BiH Minister for Human Rights and Refugees, he said that any position proposed by the SNSD is an acceptable position for him if he goes through the necessary procedures of the commissions legally responsible for it.

“All that is suggested by the SNSD colleagues, as well as from the SDA, if it fits into our legal framework and if he has gone through the necessary verification by the BiH Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), there is no need to open a debate as far as I am concerned. That is a personal opinion,” Čović stated.
