Dodik: Darko Ćulum should be the new director of SIPA BiH

BANJA LUKA, January 19 (FENA) - Leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, confirmed on Saturday that he expects the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to appoint Darko Ćulum as Director of the Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), that there was no request to dismiss the Minister energy and mining of RS Petar Đokić, as well as that the SNSD wants the position of Vice President of the Federation of BiH.

Referring to the information that the Minister of Security of BiH Fahrudin Radončić has nominated the incumbent Director of the RS Police, Darko Ćulum, as the new Director of SIPA, he said that all the necessary procedures for this appointment have been completed and it is now up to the Council of Ministers to complete that appointment.

Dodik added that there was no formal meeting on Đokić's dismissal, labeling it as speculation.

The SNSD leader also confirmed that the party was interested in the position of Vice President of the Federation of BiH.

"We believe that we are the only legitimate representatives of the Serbs in the FBiH. This role neither belongs to the SDA, nor the Party for BiH, nor the Democratic Front ... We are approaching the number of six MPs who can bring up this the issue and I think we will succeed," said Dodik at a press conference.

Asked whether the SDA disputes the appointment of Mlađen Božović as Minister for Human Rights and Refugees and whether it has anything to do with the position of Deputy Speaker of the RS National Assembly from the ranks of the Bosniak People, Dodik stated that the principle was to agree about one level of government at a time.

"We stick to that rule, that what belongs to one party or people is not to be contested by others. Everything that appeared in the press about Božović turned out to be untrue," he said.

He believes that the SDA is now challenging something that has already been agreed upon.

"I spoke with the SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović. If we're going to talk about the entity level, it's not a problem to talk about it, but we're doing it level by level...," he said.

He reiterated that Croatia's intention to dispose of radioactive waste at the site of Trgovska Gora was unacceptable and that the BiH representatives will fight this decision using political, legal means and through international institutions.

Dodik said after the SNSD Executive Board session on Saturday that they talked about investments in RS, as well as the situation in Drvar, where he and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić plan to attend the opening of the 'Jumko' company plant on January 29, and that the SNSD wants "its own ministerial posts and at the level of the Livno Canton."

He reiterated that the RS advocates for the imports of Russian pharmaceutical products into the BiH market, which, he added, "are far cheaper."
