Zvizdić - Salinas: BiH needs to speed up World Bank-supported projects

SARAJEVO, January 21 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, met today with Head of the World Bank Office for BiH, Emanuel Salinas.

Salinas presented to Zvizdić the priorities of the World Bank program outlined in a joint partnership program with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He emphasized that this document defines the most important areas for the World Bank program and that the document for active cooperation with the authorities in BiH for the period 2021-2025 is under preparation.

Zvizdić thanked for all the World Bank-funded projects implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He said it would be necessary to speed up the implementation of World Bank projects and streamline the procedures.

“We need a new momentum in the analysis and improving the segments of innovation, education, tourism, healthcare and infrastructure. We want to make programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina that will be accompanied by quality reforms and that will be visible to every citizen of our country,” Zvizdić said at the meeting.

They agreed that BiH needs to accelerate the implementation of already started projects, supported by the World Bank in the coming period which relate to energy efficiency projects and strengthening the banking sector in BiH,” stated the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Public Relations Sector.
