SARAJEVO, January 21 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, talked today with the French Ambassador to BiH, Guillaume Rousson, in Sarajevo, on economic cooperation opportunities and potential investments in BiH.
During the talks, it was noted that BiH and France are friendly countries and that there is a need for further enhancement of bilateral cooperation in all segments.
Minister Košarac emphasized that BiH's main foreign policy priority is EU integration and that the ministry and the new Council of Ministers of BiH are committed to accelerating the processes of realization of this priority, in accordance with the constitutional competencies and coordination mechanism.
Ambassador Rousson stressed that France fully supports BiH's integration into the EU while carrying out all necessary reforms along the way.
The focus of the talks was on improving economic opportunities in BiH. Minister Košarac said that he was fully committed to strengthening the economy and protecting domestic production, while respecting international agreements signed by BiH, and expressed his hope that the results of such efforts would be effective, visible and to the benefit of all BiH citizens.
Ambassador Rousson informed the Minister about the need to finalize an agreement that would regulate cooperation between the two countries through the formation of the French Development Agency, whose regional headquarters is in Belgrade.
The collocutors recognized the opening of the French Development Agency in BiH as a clear and encouraging French signal for the development of economic relations with BiH.
The Embassy of France, according to the ambassador, will organize thematic workshops on public-private partnerships in BiH this year as a model to be affirmed in BiH and proven to be successful in the countries of the region, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH said.
