Indictment filed against Mile Ujić for crimes against humanity in Rogatica

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 23 (FENA) - Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has filed an indictment against Mile Ujić, born in Rogatica in 1951, charged with crimes against humanity committed in the Rogatica area.

The accused is charged with participating in the persecution of Bosniak civilians during the widespread and systematic attack by the police and the Army of RS (VRS) in the Rogatica area during 1992 and 1993.

The indictment alleges that the accused commanded an attack on the village of Kozadre, in which he personally participated, during which some 20 civilians were wounded, including minors and women, after which they were captured. Eight prisoners were killed, the houses and property set on fire and the remaining civilians taken into illegal detention and subsequently expelled and transported from the Rogatica municipality.

The bodies of the eight victims were found, exhumed and identified after the war.

The prosecution will prove the allegations by summoning about 60 witnesses and expert witnesses, including seven witnesses with protective measures, and attaching more than 120 pieces of evidence.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
