Djokić: Excluded members did not admit of having violated program and statute

DOBOJ, January 26 (FENA) - Main Board of the Socialist Party of the Republika Srpska confirmed, at the session in Doboj, the decision of party leader Petar Djokić to exclude three members, Maksim Skoko, Goran Selak and Milenko Savanović, who had previously sought Djokić's resignation.

Djokić said the exclusion of the three members was due to the violations of the program and statute, and acting outside the party's statute.

“I had to make such a decision because there was no other way to prevent the Main Board meeting from any further action that could harm the party,” said Djokić.

He added that "there is room for some MPs to change their stance," but he does not mean those excluded from the party.

At the Executive Board meeting, he said, there were attempts to reconcile views with Skoko, Savanović and Selak, but that they had refused "to admit that they had grossly violated the program and statute, and to apologize to members, authorities and the party president."

Maksim Skoko had previously announced that he would appeal this decision, as he believed that the Main Board had been convened outside the party statute.

He also said that he would continue to act as president of the caucus for five of seven deputies in the RS National Assembly until the final decision of the statutory commission on exclusion.
