SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - The trial of Goran Salihović, the former chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is charged with abuse of office or authority, began today with reading of an indictment in the Sarajevo Cantonal Court.

The indictment, read by Cantonal Prosecutor Amra Mehmedić, states that Salihović was an official in the BiH institutions, i.e. as an appointed holder of the judicial function (Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH) in the period from 1 February 2013 to 28.09.2016, was acting in contravention of the Decision on the conditions and manner of using funds for expenses and gifts, which stipulated limits on the use of these funds at home and abroad.

Among other things, under the first indictment, Salihović is charged with knowingly acting contrary to the regulations and, using his official position, ordered the head of the Department of Material and Financial Operations to transfer funds of the budget of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH allocated for other purposes to the account of representation expenses.

In this way, as the indictment alleges, as an official in the institutions of BiH, he obtained a pecuniary gain in the total amount of KM 80,103 by abusing his official position or authority.
