SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, spoke today with UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Steliana Nedera in Sarajevo on continued cooperation on the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Senior Program Coordinator and Justice and Security Sector Leader at UNDP in BiH Slobodan Tadić also attended the meeting and discussed the continuation of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport and UNDP, which implies cooperation on developing plans and strategies consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
UNDP representatives congratulated Mitrović on his election to the ministerial position and emphasized that they have been reliable partners in environmental and rural development projects over the past year.
Mitrović underlined the importance of the signed Memorandum of Understanding and expressed his expectation that good cooperation with UNDP would continue.
In this regard, they also discussed the continuation of joint activities for the preparation of a workshop to be organized by the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport in early March this year, in cooperation with UNDP and with the support of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
In addition to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, the workshop will also be dedicated to road safety.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also addressed the process of digitalization in BiH. In this regard, Mitrović stressed that the Ministry's goal for BiH is, with the support of UNDP, to reach Europe in the field of digitization, the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport stated.
