SARAJEVO, January 30 (FENA) - Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in BiH, Steliana Nedera today visited the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Nedera was received by Minister of Defense Sifet Podžić with whom she discussed the current activities on joint projects and plans for future cooperation.
Podžić welcomed and thanked UNDP for its support and assistance in the process of dealing with surplus ammunition and explosives, staff training, equipment and the securing of prospective military storage sites.
The Minister emphasized his commitment to continue the cooperation, emphasizing that the support of UNDP and friendly countries has been very important for the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH for the purpose of creating a safe environment for all BiH citizens.
The participation of the BiH Armed Forces in UN-led peace support missions in Congo and Mali was also a topic of the meeting.
Resident Representative Nedera thanked Minister Podžić for the meeting and the support of MoD and AF BiH in the implementation of jointly agreed activities.
She briefed the Minister on the UNDP priorities for the period 2020-2025, highlighting the initiatives that will continue to support the institutions in the defense sector throughout the region, stated the BiH Ministry of Defense.
