BANJA LUKA, February 4 (FENA) - A regular session of the RS National Assembly will be held on February 18, but the SDS initiative on a special parliamentary session was not accepted, as they claimed it was necessary to hold a special session “after a member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik admitted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially jointed the Membership Action Plan with NATO.”
The entity parliament speaker Nedeljko Čubilović says the SDS did not meet the rules of procedure because they lacked a certain number of MP signatures for the initiative.
Earlier, the SDS president Mirko Šarović requested a special session “because BiH is in the process of joining NATO.”
“After NATO officially announced that BiH is in the MAP, it is clear that the activation of the MAP, which has been stopped until now, has been initiated by the submission of the Reform Program to NATO headquarters. Now, Bosnia and Herzegovina has the same status as North Macedonia, that is, in line for the full membership and we can no longer decide on it,” Šarović said.
Čubrilović today rejected the opposition claims that the original document, the BiH Reform Program, in fact, was not discussed in the parliament in December.
At today's session of the collegium of the National Assembly of RS, the initiative of an MP of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) Draško Stanivuković was also not accepted for mandatory marking of all official vehicles in the public institutions of that BiH entity and a request to limit the maximum cost of their procurement to 51,000 KM.
Čubrilović added that the Rules of Procedure were not honored in this case, although he supported the initiative for the marking of the official vehicles.
