SARAJEVO, February 4 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received today Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Heidari, whom he informed about the current activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister of Defense for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović and Political Affairs Advisor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in BiH Mehdi Eskandari.
Minister Podžić thanked Ambassador Heidari for the friendly relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Heidari congratulated Podžić on his appointment as BiH Minister of Defense.
"Our hand of friendship is extended to all peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Ambassador Heidari said, highlighting the numerous cultural and historical ties between the two countries.
He stressed that that the Islamic Republic of Iran is open to any kind of cooperation that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina are interested in.
He also invited Minister of Defense of BiH to attend a ceremony to mark the national day of IR Iran that will be held at the embassy in Sarajevo, stated the MoD BiH.
