SARAJEVO, February 4 (FENA) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina endorsed several pieces of legislation in the second vote that were not agreed within the collegium of the House.
These are amendments to the Law on Financing of Institutions, the Law on Patents and the Law on the Judicial Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all three were proposed by the Council of Ministers and all three were passed at first reading.
There was no entity majority from Republika Srpska to support the amendments to the Law on Temporary and Permanent Residence of BiH Citizens, proposed by the Democratic Front (DF) MP Zlatan Begić.
The House adopted the amendments to the BiH Criminal Code proposed by MPs Saša Magazinović (SDP), Jasmin Emrić (A-SDA) and Šemsudin Mehmedović (SDA) in the second round of voting, and these amendments should ensure more efficient treatment and prosecution of acts of terrorism in BiH as well as more effective international cooperation in criminal matters with other countries.
The MPs accepted the negative opinion of the competent committee regarding the amendments to the Law on Travel Documents, proposed by independent MP Damir Arnaut, thus rejecting the law, while they sent back to the Constitutional Committee the Bill amending the Law on Civil Service in BiH institutions by the same proponent.
The House supported the Bill on Amendments to the Law on State Aid System in the first reading, proposed by the Council of Ministers.
The House did not support the Proposal of the Decision on Appointment of Members of the Committee for Selection and Monitoring of the Work of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption, which was controversial to the MPs, because Nikola Špirić (SNSD) has been nominated into the committee even though his name is currently found on the United States blacklist due to information linking him to the cases of public corruption.
