NEW YORK / SARAJEVO, February 11 (FENA) - A delegation of the City of Sarajevo visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York and met with UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General for Genocide Prevention Adama Dieng and other senior officials of the organization.
The reception for the delegation, led by Mayor of Srajevo Abdulah Skaka and Chairman of the City Council Igor Gavrić, in company with Mayor of East Sarajevo Nenad Vuković, was organized on the anniversary of the opening of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), held on February 10 at the Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo.
Due to the successful organization of the EYOF, Dieng has earlier presented special honors to the mayors of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka and Nenad Vuković for their contribution to cooperation, peace and dialogue through the successful organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF).
During the meeting at the UN Headquarters, the officials talked about positive effects of this sporting event for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibilities for our country and the city to host even more significant sporting events, announced the Sarajevo City Administration.
