SARAJEVO, February 12 (FENA) - Representatives of the FBiH Development Bank, the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber and the FBiH Chamber of Commerce at a meeting in Sarajevo discussed projects and new credit lines for the bank, as well as opportunities to jointly support new business ideas and investment capital projects.
Semir Fejzić, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of the FBiH Development Bank, said that this is one of a series of meetings they organize to connect with all key stakeholders and for the FBiH Development Bank to be a public service to economic policy and businessmen and to be a tool for the FBiH Government to strengthen the competitiveness of our economy and to stimulate new employment.
“We wish to develop a whole new concept of partnership, cooperation with all key players in the FBiH, as well as BiH, and with financial resources from our side and chambers with their organizational economic potential at very favorable, maybe even at the most favorable credit conditions to support new business ideas and investment capital projects in the FBiH,” Fejzić added.
He stated that there is a wide range of new credit lines and that they are all already operational, and singled out two credit lines for agriculture, both with repayment periods of up to 15 years.
According to Fejzić, when it comes to increasing the competitiveness of our exporters and reducing the trade deficit, they have created three special credit lines for exporters with a single interest rate, but in three phases - creating new value, new investment before export preparation and payment based on export jobs.
Ahmet Egrlić, Vice President of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber said that the availability of entity development banks and agencies is important for the business community.
“The business community needs credit lines like this. I think that these three export credit products are of particular interest to the BiH economy, and certainly all other products, such as agricultural credit, are also needed. What is important is that in this way, the FBiH Development Bank wants to be open and accessible to the business community, as this administration and management allows. This is what we in the business community need and can define together and maybe create some new products and services for this bank,” said Egrlić.
President of the FBiH Chamber of Commerce Mirsad Jašarspahić said that the initiative for this meeting came from the FBiH Development Bank, which was not the case earlier when chambers' representatives requested meetings with bankers when presenting projects they have.
