BANJA LUKA, February 13 (FENA) - Republika Srpska (RS) President Željka Cvijanović said that the RS institutions will make decisions for the benefit of its citizens and are not a "disruptive factor, but will not allow either the stripping of competences or degradation of constitutional capacity".
“If anyone wants a conversation and a deal, we are here. If you do not want that and you think you can constantly torture and underestimate us, and that we will tolerate something like that, then this is wrong,” she said.
Asked how certain it is that the RS "goes its own way from spring next year if its views are not respected", as SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said, Cvijanović told reporters in Banja Luka that if this was the way out of this situation, then the institutions will behave that way.
"But in all decisions, RS always puts the option of talks and agreements as the model of work," she added.
She recalled that the establishment of government at the BiH level had been blocked for more than a year.
“There's nothing to block. Everything is frozen there, blocked, uninventive, non-creative, unprepared for work and functioning,” she said.
She accused Bosniak officials "of years of efforts to deprive the RS of its jurisdiction and that this was previously done through the High Representative, and now by a decision of the BiH Constitutional Court banning the registration or declaration of ownership of agricultural land in RS and declaring it unconstitutional and state property”.
