BANJA LUKA, February 18 (FENA) - Head of the "Together for BiH" parliamentary group in the RS National Assembly, Edin Ramić, said tonight that the RS National Assembly is not the place to discuss the declaration of the position of the Serb people in Montenegro.

It would be more adequate, he said, to adopt a declaration on the of the Bosniak people to their Bosnian language in the RS.

“Such declaration is desirable in the entity of RS, which would allow Bosniaks to speak and study their Bosnian language and for children to study under the Bosnian curriculum, as they are allowed in Serbia, Montenegro and anywhere else but in the RS.

It would be good for the National Assembly to oblige a member of the BiH Presidency from RS not to obstruct the signing of a treaty with the Islamic Community ... and generally to set a different attitude when it comes to Bosniaks in the RS, while respecting the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms,” said Ramić.

During the parliamentary debate on the draft text of the declaration on the position of the Serb people in Montenegro, proposed by the deputy Nebojša Vukanović, he recalled that the entity parliament had earlier adopted various declarations, which the RS Constitutional Court stated did not produce any legal effect. i.e., they are not binding but merely express a kind of political stance.

"I understand the feelings of Serbs from the RS towards Serbs in Montenegro and the region," Ramić said, citing that the issue could be problematized at the state level since this is in the domain of foreign policy.

He underlined that he was against any form of discrimination anywhere and that BiH is a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights.
