BANJA LUKA, February 21 (FENA) - President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik today invited the leader of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegović, to discuss the Constitutional Court of BiH, and announced that the party's caucus will be in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament will refer in the regular parliamentary procedure a proposal of the law on the selection of judges of that court.

Following a session of the SNSD Executive Committee, he announced that in the next few days, meetings would be held with all representatives of political parties from the RS represented in the BiH Parliament regarding the proposal of the said law, which provides for “international judges to be replaced by domestic experts.”

Dodik added that the SNSD Vice-Presidents Nikola Špirić and Nebojša Radmanović have been tasked “to arrange with the political parties based in the Federation of BiH to organize such meetings in the next few days.”

"We will wait for other opinions and the amendments," Dodik said, adding that he was not optimistic that the law proposed by the SNSD would be adopted.

The SNSD Executive Committee tasked the SNSD Vice President Radovan Višković with finalizing the talks with Mićo Mićić (SDS), Mayor of Bijeljina, in connection with the upcoming local elections.

“We have already received the proposal of the agreement from Mićić and it is necessary to just clarify some details and make the final document,” said Dodik.

Following a decision by the BiH Constitutional Court on the agricultural land in the entity of RS, he argues that “the RS is in the most difficult situation since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.”

“This cannot be accepted. The BiH Constitutional Court does not have an unlimited power,” Dodik said, adding that the BiH Constitution specifies that the BiH Parliamentary Assembly can determine the model for the election of judges to the BiH Constitutional Court.

Dodik claims that the SDS president Mirko Šarović's statement is untrue that certain SNSD officials have been given the disputed farming land that is covered by the latest decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, and condemned the threats made today by the Head of the RS Representative Office I the Russian Federation, Duško Perović, to the editorial office of Banja Luka's web portal ‘Capital’.
