SARAJEVO, February 24 (FENA) - Austrian diplomat and former High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch said in an interview with ‘Dnevni avaz’ that he was particularly concerned about the overall situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina after another political crisis triggered by the smaller BiH entity, all because of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

As is known already, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted at its session last Monday conclusions, inter alia, on the blocking of all BiH institutions until the adoption of the law on termination of the mandate of foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH.

“I was the one who initiated the establishment of courts in BiH and because of that I am additionally concerned about all that has happened in the entity of Republika Srpska. In my opinion, this is a clear attack on the Dayton Agreement,” says Petritsch.

Referring to the statements on the possible secession of the RS, he points out that these are direct attacks and breaches of the Dayton Agreement.

“By his moves and announcements of secession, Dodik, in effect, is abandoning all the provisions of the Dayton Agreement, which in turn questions the status of entity of RS itself. I really wonder what can happen and how the international community will react. The Office of the High Representative in BiH still has the power and task to impose the respect of the Dayton provisions, and therefore the Constitution of BiH,” Petritsch states.

Asked to comment on whether the time has come for the BiH High Representative to use the Bonn Ppowers against such anti-Dayton actions by Milorad Dodik, Petritsch believes there are other methods that would be imposed on the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats.

“The entire international community must respond immediately. Several years have passed since the red line has been crossed, but unfortunately, we did not react in an adequate manner,” Petritsch points out.

Petritsch has revealed that, according to information confirmed to him, new sanctions are being prepared in Brussels against Milorad Dodik.

“As you know, Dodik is already blacklisted by the United States. I have information from Brussels that the European Union is seriously considering banning Mr. Dodik from entering the EU. I do not know if this would happen, but we will see everything soon,” Petritsch concluded in an interview with ’Dnevi avaz’.
