SARAJEVO, February 27 (FENA) - Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković received on February 25 in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to BiH, based in Belgrade, Eldar Hasanov, together with the Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Azerbaijan to BiH, Elnur Guliyev.
The officials assessed that the political relations between BiH and Azerbaijan are good and friendly, based on mutual understanding and that there are no outstanding political issues.
The Minister thanked the Government and the people of Azerbaijan for all they have done for BiH, emphasizing that the two countries have much in common regarding recent past and, accordingly, have a good mutual understanding.
She expressed belief that BiH, as Azerbaijan, will become economically strong and prosperous country and that its inhabitants will start returning to their homeland.
Ambassador Eldar Hasanov congratulated the Minister on taking up her new duty, showing respect for her enviable diplomatic career.
He noted that this year, when the two countries mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the signing of several bilateral agreements in preparation will be a very good way to mark this anniversary.
He stressed that Azerbaijan will continue to invest in BiH in various spheres. He particularly emphasized his country's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, as well as the stability and security of BiH and the region.
On this occasion, Turković invited her Azerbaijani counterpart, Foreign Minister Elmar Mamadjarov to visit BiH and thanked her for the invitation to visit Azerbaijan.
She emphasized that bilateral visits would contribute to a more positive and concrete cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Turković expressed readiness for personal engagement in order to overcome the bureaucratic difficulties faced by Azerbaijani and other investors in BiH in creating a better business climate in BiH.
She cited a positive example of the student-exchange process between BiH and Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH said in a press release.
