SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - Former Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Security Dragan Mektić and others have pleaded not guilty today in the Court of BiH to abuse of office and authority charged by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
The same indictment charges Samir Agić, as Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Security of BiH, Igor Golijanin, as Head of the Cabinet of the Minister in the Ministry of Security of BiH and Edin Garaplija, as the responsible person and owner of the Institute for Fire and Explosion Protection INZA Sarajevo.
They have been accused of abusing their position when implementing the cross-border cooperation agreement in the field of firefighting, which was financed by the EU Delegation to BiH with EUR 198,454.
Dragan Mektić, Igor Golijanin and Edin Garaplija have been charged with criminal offenses of high-level corruption, damaging BiH's international reputation.
The suspects gained illegal material gain in the amount of 244.764 KM by violating the procurement procedure.
