SARAJEVO, March 11 (FENA) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in BiH today formally launched the "SDG Accelerator for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)" in Sarajevo, which aims to accelerate business solutions based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Steliana Nedera said that Deloitte's experiences in Denmark with the SDG Accelerator are very interesting, which is why they decided to transfer them to BiH in a pilot project with five selected companies.
“We hope that pilot project will be successful and that it will continue next year,” said Nedera.
She explained that these five companies, with the support of Deloitte experts, will undergo a six-month "innovation journey" that is driven by ideas that can be quickly realized with strong SDGs and business potential, identification of new products, services or business models, and eventually development of prototypes and concrete business plans.
SDG Manager at Deloitte in Denmark Soren Schou stated that they have developed a number of methodologies and tools that have proven successful in developing business solutions based on the Sustainable Development Goals for 32 Danish companies.
The companies selected for the pilot project are EdenGarden, Koteks, Jaffa Komerc, Plantago and Softhouse Balkans.
Costs of participating in the SDG Accelerator, as well as the costs of meetings, expert advice and "innovation journey" will be covered by the UNDP project with the financial assistance of the Government of Sweden.
