SARAJEVO, March 16 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, said today that the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber (VTKBiH) conducted an analysis, which surveyed around 250 companies in BiH and it is noted that due to the situation caused by coronavirus, the biggest consequences on business will have manufacturing and transport companies, that is, small and medium-sized enterprises and tourism.
After a working meeting with representatives of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber, Chambers of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and the Brčko District, and entity Employers' Associations, Košarac stated that the VTKBiH would be a place to gather information and then report it to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on any potential setbacks and problems for BiH companies in terms of import, export, and transport of goods through BiH and abroad, driver status at border crossings and more.
Companies that have problems in foreign trade, he added, should inform the relevant chambers of commerce, which together with VTKBiH and the Ministry will work to resolve the problems.
They also discussed how to help the economy when it comes to paying taxes and contributions, especially the payment of corporate income tax.
He emphasized that they discussed many measures, that they are in constant contact with other institutions and that no one would be allowed to take advantage of this situation at the expense of citizens.
Speaking about the measures based on the analysis of companies that appeared with specific problems, VTKBiH President Vjekoslav Vuković said that the measures were divided into vital, that is, health related ones, as well as measures related to transport communications and rehabilitation of the effects of coronavirus on the economy.
Košarac has announced that he will have such meetings periodically in the coming days and months.
