SARAJEVO, March 16 (FENA) - Director of the BiH Border Police Zoran Galić met with EUFOR Commander Reinhard Trischak and his associates on Monday to discuss the current situation regarding the migrant crisis and coronavirus pandemic.
Director Galić pointed out that the BiH Border Police are facing great challenges due to the mentioned global threat and that despite the lack of personnel and material and technical capacities, they are making every effort to protect the border and adhere to all agreed measures aimed at suppressing coronavirus infection.
"The situation is developing as we speak, and accordingly we are adapting and taking all preventive measures. We are in intensive communication with the competent authorities and ministries of the interior of neighboring countries and we are carrying out tasks within our jurisdiction in accordance with the agreed measures," Galić said.
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the issue of border crossing regime for the EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Border Police said.
Director Galić and Commander Trischak emphasized the importance of improving cooperation and concluded that tackling situation in a quality manner can only be done through mutual assistance and cooperation.
