TUZLA, March 19 (FENA) - Increased influx of migrants in February 2020, when 1,008 migrants were recorded, is an enormous increase, Interior Minister of the Tuzla Canton Sulejman Brkić said today after the session of the Tuzla Canton Government on the daily inflow of migrants into the area of that canton.
He said that, by country of origin, the largest number of migrants came from Afghanistan - 525, followed by Pakistan - 367, Bangladesh 31, Iran 29, India 25, Morocco 12, Palestine 4, Egypt 3, Cuba and Western Sahara each 2 and Iraq and Cameroon 1 each.
“If such trend continues, there is a fear that without adequate involvement of the competent state authorities in addressing the presence of migrants in the Tuzla Canton, the Police Directorate will not be able to cope with this issue in a good way,” said Minister Brkić.
