Šeranić: Fourteen new cases of coronavirus, bringing total number in RS to 59

BANJA LUKA, March 20 (FENA) - The Republika Srpska (RS) Minister of Health and Social Care Alen Šeranić confirmed tonight that 14 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in that BiH entity, increasing the total number of those infected in the RS to 59, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina 83 cases in total.

They are all in home isolation and have mild symptoms.

Šeranić said that the persons that tested positives, eight of them are male (young and middle-aged) and six women (middle-aged, older and younger), of whom 11 were from Banja Luka, one each from Derventa, Čelinac and Bosanska Gradiška.

Most of the newly infected people are tied to a third cluster in Banja Luka.

The minister stressed that the focal point is still growing and that they are trying to put himself under control.

"A total of 45 people have been tested today, 14 of them were new tests, and they came negative, and one in the Clinical Center isolation ward and given the symptoms, the test was redone for potential release, but the patient once again tested positive so he will stay in the hospital," said Šeranić.

Currently, there are 11,695 people under monitoring in the RS, with 375 having been released form the measure.  

So far, 420 persons have been tested in the RS.
