RS limits the number of basic food items allowed to be purchased per person

BANJA LUKA, March 22 (FENA) - A measure on the allowed maximum amount of essential foods a person can buy in one store in the entity of Republic of Srpska will be adopted today, as well as a measure on the release of personal data of people who break the order of self-isolation in a time of coronavirus pandemic.

Inter-city transport in that BiH entity is abolished and the BiH Council of Ministers is requested to ban the entry of foreign nationals to the country altogether.

These restrictive measures are being introduced because citizens should not be making excessive stockpiles of food items and thus creating artificial scarcity of basic commodities.

"Expert teams will determine the quantities of basic food items that can be purchased, relating primariyl to flour, table oil and other products," the RS Prime Minister Višković said at a press conference and announced that the entity government would ask for help from the colleagues in Serbia, to procure larger quantities of wheat, salt, sugar and oil.

"At the moment, we have sufficient quantities of basic food items, but we will procure even larger quantities for citizens," he added.

He also announced that he would ask the BiH Armed Forces to find available accommodation facilities, primarily in the RS entity, in Bileća and other places, where citizens infected with coronavirus could be accommodated, if necessary.

Local communities are required to prepare certain quarantine accommodations for those who come from abroad or do not respect the decisions of home isolation.

Višković also announced that they would pass a decision on publishing personal data of persons who break home isolation measures and these persons would then be placed in a tent quarantine, because, he said, irresponsible individuals could not be allowed to threaten other persons with their behavior.
