FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 24 (FENA) - Testing at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo confirmed the eighth case of coronavirus infection in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, a 51-year-old man from Breza who came from Germany on March 14.

Considering that he worked in a restaurant in Germany with positive cases of infection, he was immediately suspect of having acquired COVID-19 coronavirus and was placed in home isolation, the ZDC Crisis Staff said.

It was stated that he had no contact with the rest of the community in Breza, since he lives alone and has been under medical supervision since he came. After mild symptoms that emerged a few days later, swabs were taken and sent to the reference laboratory and coronavirus infection was confirmed.

The patient will be transferred to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital on Tuesday morning, with five previously infected persons - four from Zenica and one from Tešanj, while the sixth patient was previously transferred to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital Infectious Diseases Ward. Also, a 34-year-old man from Visoko is expected to be transferred to the isolation ward, with COVID-19 infection confirmed earlier on Monday, stated the ZDC Crisis Staff.
