SARAJEVO, March 25 (FENA) - The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić says the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, and the Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees have pledged to help this year's sowing and agricultural development to the maximum.
"Our commodity reserves are full. The Federation of BiH has food and flour and no one should be afraid about it. Also, we are in contact with big producers, and they have shown great social responsibility.
However, the Government will support the spring sowing as much as possible and then in the fall as well, to be on the safe side.
In recent years, we have had a huge percentage of the uncultivated land and this crisis can serve as a wake-up call that could change all that significantly.
Now is the time when no lot of land should be left uncultivated. For starters, the Ministry of Agriculture has increased the fund for seedlings, planting materials and fertilizers by 10 times, from 500.000 to 5 million KM. Everyone will have the opportunity to submit for grants and the operational plan has secured 10 million KM to start paying the incentives, Novalić told FENA.
