Pehar: More than 30,000 persons are under supervision

SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Member of the FBiH Civil Protection Headquarters and Director of the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Davor Pehar confirmed that 18 people were tested from yesterday from 6 p.m. to today until 10 a.m., while five new cases were confirmed positive for the novel Covid-19 coronavirus.

Four are from Sarajevo and one is from Grude. This means that in the last 24 hours ten new cases of infection have been recorded, and to date, 517 people have been tested in the Federation of BiH, while the presence of the virus has been confirmed in 62 patients.

Pehar emphasized that the highest number of cases in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is 26, followed by nine in the Sarajevo Canton, eight confirmed cases in Zenica-Doboj Canton, seven cases were recorded in the West Herzegovina Canton, while six were confirmed in the Una-Sana Canton.

In the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton, four people are infected with the novel coronavirus, in Posavina and Central Bosnia Canton there is one case of infection, while to date there are no recorded cases in Tuzla Canton and Canton 10, and three people have died in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the disease caused by Covid-19.

More than 30,000 people are under surveillance in the Federation of BiH, and Pehar estimates that this is a very successful anti-epidemic measure implemented in the Federation of BiH, which is why he urged citizens to behave responsibly and strictly adhere to the self-isolation measures and follow the orders of competent institutions that undertake all measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

He noted that the next two to three weeks are crucial in the development of this situation in terms of the occurrence of coronaviruses and it depends on everyone in which direction the process will go.
