SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - A surgical procedure was successfully performed at the Zenica Cantonal Hospital for the patient who had previously been confirmed with coronavirus COVID-19 infection. A patient from Tešanj, 49, is successfully recovering from surgery due to acute abdominal problems, Press service of the Zenica-Doboj Canton stated.
ZDC Health Minister and Head of the Crisis Staff, Dr. Adnan Jupić, said today that this was "another confirmation of hard work of the Crisis Staff, which, analyzing all possible scenarios, predicted such situations in a pandemic."
“We have divided the hospital capacities within the Zenica Cantonal Hospital and the Tešanj General Hospital, which no one in the region has done so far, so we have the opportunity to provide other forms of health care to patients who are coronavirus positive without compromising other patients and without compromising their condition from other diseases not related to coronavirus,” said Minister Jupić.
Other seven patients with COVID-19 coronavirus infection in the Zenica Cantonal Hospital isolation unit are stable. Two still have mild clinical symptoms, while the others are symptom-free.
So far, about 50 coronavirus tests have been carried out in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
