BIHAĆ, March 27 (FENA) - Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit at the Cantonal Hospital "Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić" in Bihać Dr. Enisa Šabotić has confirmed a second coronavirus-related death in the Una-Sana Canton.
The person who has died was an elderly man from Bosanska Krupa who was hospitalized in an isolation ward and was in a severe condition for several days and on a respirator.
Unfortunately, today at 14.16 hrs., the patient died. His condition was difficult, and last night it suddenly worsened and unfortunately today, his lungs and heart collapsed. In addition to the confirmed infection with COVID 19, the patient has previously had hypertension and cardiac arrhythmia," said Dr. Enisa Šabotić.
This is the second death in the Una-Sana Canton related to coronavirus pandemic, since an elderly woman from Bihać, also a chronic patient, passed away few days earlier.
Another hospitalized patient at the Bihać Cantonal Hospital isolation ward is a young man from Bihać, and his condition is now stable. The hospital confirmed that three more samples were sent to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo and they expect the results during the day.
