SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) - Member of the FBiH Civil Protection Service Crisis Staff and Director of the Federation BiH Institute for Public Health, Davor Pehar, said that according to a report released by the Institute this morning at 10 a.m., 118 new samples have been tested in the past 24 hours of which Covid-19 was confirmed in 28 cases.
As for these new positive cases, he added, 11 were recorded in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, nine in the Tuzla Canton, four in the Sarajevo Canton, two in the Zenica-Doboj and one in the West Herzegovina, as well as one in Bosnia-Podrinje Canton.
“As of today, 855 people have been tested in the Federation of BiH, and Covid-19 has been confirmed in 123 cases,” Pehar said.
There are 44 positive cases of coronavirus in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the West Herzegovina Canton 18, the Tuzla Canton 18, the Sarajevo Canton 17, the Zenica-Doboj 10, the Una-Sana Canton 8, the Bosnia-Podrinje 6, and one case in the Posavina Canton, as well as in the Central-Bosnia Canton.
He also stated that the cases are imported from the European countries such as Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Serbia, Austria, Turkey and the USA. Local transmission is registered in the area of four cantons - Herzegovina-Neretva, West Herzegovina, Una-Sana and Bosnia-Podrinje Canton - Goražde.
Pehar added that more than 35,000 people have been placed under medical watch in the Federation of BiH so far, and that number is expected to grow.
