ZENICA, March 30 (FENA) - Ten new cases of coronavirus infection in the Zenica-Doboj Canton have been confirmed, increasing the number of those infected in the canton to 20, with more than 5,000 people isolated at home and at the Zenica Student Center.

Today, the infection was confirmed in seven new persons in Zenica (12 in total), two in Zavidovići (3) and one in Žepče. So far, two have been infected in Tešanj and one each in Visoko and Breza.

"All the infected people come from primary medicine healthcare. The five newly infected in Zenica come from the family of a patient who was at the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica, and who came from Tuzla.

The other two infected in Zenica also arrived from the Heart Center in Tuzla.

Director of the Zenica Hospital, Rasim Skomorac confirmed that they still do not take swabs from their staff, which, after confirming the infection in a cardiovascular patient they were in contact with, preventively sent them to isolation at the Student Center or at their homes.

"It's too early for the tests, as it should take five to six days from confirmed contact with the infected. However, all 45 of our workers have been sent to isolation and will not be working, except, perhaps, a few colleagues from the Infectious Diseases Department who can work in protective equipment," says Skomorac.

Out of the total number of infected persons, three patients from Zenica were cured and released on Friday, while the patient from Tešanj was negative on the first control test, which should be repeated today so that it could be the fourth cured Covid-19 patient in that canton.
