UNESCO and City of Sarajevo donate a triage container to the General Hospital

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) - A second triage container has been placed in front of the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš" in Sarajevo to facilitate the work of medical staff at the health care facility during the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The director of this health institution, Zlatko Kravić, points out that this solution is more favorable than the triage tent, both for patients and hospital staff and medical equipment, and that in the new and safer conditions there will be a faster flow of patients in the two triage units.

He notes that there are a team of 50 doctors and nurses/technicians working at the Triage Center of the Hospital, who take turns every six hours.

Funds for the purchase of the container were provided by UNESCO and the Administration of the City of Sarajevo, at the initiative of the Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo, Milan Trivić. The management of the General Hospital wholeheartedly accepted this proposal and was supported by Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka and Ivica Šarić and UNESCO Chief of Office, Siniša Šešum.
