TUZLA, March 31 (FENA) - Health Minister of the Tuzla Canton Dajana Čolić said today that there are 3.694 people in home isolation in the area of this canton, and 422 people have been tested. Over the past night, 116 people have been tested and seven tested positive for coronavirus.
The total number of infected persons is 37 and 13 have been hospitalized at the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
“Today, we held working meeting of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Health Crisis Staff and considered the evolving epidemiological situation and the emergence of an increasing number of coronavirus patients in the Tuzla Canton. Therefore, we decided that we would have to change our plans in accordance with WHO guidelines and isolate patients in isolation units,” said Health Minister Dajana Čolić.
She also stated that not all doctors or medical staffs at the Heart Clinic have been tested yet.
“We are doing the testing according to risk assessment. At the moment we have another cluster active in Srebrenik. In order to avoid confirmation of false negative findings, it will take some time to see how they will develop antibodies. Therefore, a certain amount of time has to pass,” Minister Čolić explained.
Currently, 80 health professionals who are employees of the Heart Clinic have been tested, and new tests are intensively underway. Of 80 tested, 15 were positive for coronavirus.
When it comes to medical staff from the University Medical Center Tuzla, there are 120 of them in isolation, and so far there is no fear that the University Clinical Center of Tuzla could be left without a sufficient number of medical staff.
