ZENICA, April 7 (FENA) - Healthcare workers, support staff and patients who were in contact with an infected cardiovascular patient at the Department of Internal Medicine of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital were negative at the first test, confirmed the hospital director Rasim Skomorac to FENA.

In the three groups, a total of 50 healthcare workers, staff and patients from the Zenica hospital were tested in the last seven days.

"All of the first tests came back negative, but the tests will be repeated in about seven to eight days. Until then, all our employees will remain in self-isolation because, for the time being, there is no great need for their engagement," Skomorac points out.

He notes that there are 11 patients left at the Department of Infectious Diseases who are being treated for coronavirus infection, and nine more are in the isolation ward in the inpatient care.

Health Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Chief of the Crisis Staff for combating coronavirus of that ministry, Adnan Jupić, points out that coronavirus infection was confirmed with two persons in Zenica this morning.

"Both infected were in contact with previously infected persons from the cluster of the Heart Center in Tuzla. Currently, in our canton we have 35 infected, six of whom have been cured.

This is an expected increase, but I can express my satisfaction that there is no uncontrolled spread of the infection, that is, for the time being, we manage to keep everything under control," says Jupić.
